News and Notes THE CITY COUNCIL & MAYOR'S DONATION TO THE BAND The Russellville City Council and Mayor voted at the August 4th meeting to give Band Parent's Association $15,000.00 to go toward the student's transportation cost to represent Russellville in the ABC/Boscov's Thanksgiving Parade this November.  Please thank your local Council Members and Mayor for helping our student's trip to New York and Philadelphia this fall.  They are Mayor Johnny Brown, Aurthur Elliot, Craig Grissom,  David Kennedy, and Buckshot Saint.       Posted on 06 Aug 2008 -- TRI-STATE KUDZU KLASSIC ----------- "Festival of Bands" ---------- Returning to the RHS Stadium this Fall with a new "Festival" format -- the "TRI-STATE KUDZU KLASSIC" Festival of Bands. Be sure to send your email address to Mr. McNutt   Mark Your Calendar Marching Hundred FIRST BAND PARENT MEETING The first Band Parent Association meeting of the 2008-09 season will be held on Tuesday night, August 12th at 6:30pm in the Band Room.  The parent handbook will be issued at this meeting, which the fee is included in the Band Camp fee of $75.00.  The executive committee will meet at 6:00pm.  Posted on 02 Aug 2008   Middle School Band   BEGINNER BAND INSTRUMENT MEETING All beginner band parents need to meet in the Band Room on Monday, August 11th at 6:30pm for information on leasing a beginner band instrument.  At least one parent or legal guardian will need to be present at this meeting.  All used instruments must be inspected and approved by the band staff for use in the Russellville Band Program.  This is to insure success for your child and the quality of our band program.
